This series is something close to my heart. My heritage is Mexican yet I was raised in Europe so my whole life I always felt like an outsider of my culture looking in and trying to learn more about it. This is an introduction to my efforts for reaching into my heritage. Each one different than the other but vibrant and powerful with color. I love the use of negative space and the abstract lines to tell their own story. I hope you enjoy it. Selena was the subject for this painting. I used a photograph of her and added my own interpretation of dia de los muertos to her image. Each print is printed with high quality pigments on a heavy poster stock 12"x18" paper. I hand sign each print.
If you are in San Angelo I can arrange for pick up at my gallery. For shipping outside the city, it is free.
La Jefa Prints and Original
This is a fine art canvas print with a 1 1/4" depth. Orders placed within the five-day business week will take up to 10 business days for local pick-up and up to 14 days for shipping outside the local zip code. I hand embellish each print to give it its own unique touch. As well as hand sign the front and ship it with a signed certificate of authenticity. These additions take a few extra days for processing but well worth the wait.
Each print is constructed for durability. Every frame is built with a solid face to support the canvas and keep it from deforming and loosening. No staples. Perfectly clean look. Every gallery wrap comes with a sturdy, black backer board. Hanging hardware is pre-installed. Every canvas print is finished off with a clear acrylic coating, providing a very scratch resistant protective layer with a satin luster.
Fine Art Paper prints are printed on a custom developed 264 gsm paper with pigment based inks.
I've decided to ship the print in a mailing tube. I've tried heavy duty flat shipping but UPS seems to find away to bend the print no matter how well I pack it. Its easier to unroll the print flat than it is to unbend it from a crease.
